Greece II - Athens to Mykonos island

July 3rd, 2008 Thursday

Leaving all my suitcases at Hilton, with only one backpack, I finally was lean and get on road again!

It was not hard for me to get a ferry with my lonely planet... And I was lucky to meet one girl called Vicky... she works on the ship at one shop...
19 years old just finished high school, she is a very nice, friendly and funny girl. She tries to talk in English in a very neat and nice way... I really liked it.
She guided me to get the ticket and to the ship... which made me feel I was lucky again...

Leaving Athens, I started to see the "white house" which I always imagined in Greece finally...

I accompanied Vicky at her shop the whole trip, since it was so pleasant, I read my book and we chat, Vicky taught me Greek Alphabet... and she was
happy that day the sales doubled, she believes I am just a lucky star... :-p which I guess I am... since I am just "plainly happy"

Vicky brought me to the Capitan's room again, this time it is a much bigger space, much more serious... and in the night the ship drove without light on, since
the sailors need to see the machine and the sea well...

That night I was picked up by the "Mykonos Camping" bus, went directly to the camping site, I took a bungalow, felt in nature, this made me happy...
At the bar on beach, I met some solo travelers like me... many friendly gays, I think I like them... they are safe and nice...

July 4th, 2008 Friday

When I wake up in the morning, I realized how lucky I was, it was such a beautiful camping site... right at one of the best beach - Parage beach...
10 min walk to the famous paradise beach...

That day I went to the town, tried to go to the ancient Delos, bad planning, I was just too late to catch the last boat at 11am... :-(((

So my day of adventure starts at the Avis car rental shop... I rented a four wheel motor, unsure if I can ever drive it... with a map and an ambition
to visit each beach along the way to the other side of the island east north point - Kalafati, the wind surfing beach! And it was an adventure I have to say...

But exciting... on my way back I was lost, another warm hearted motorcycle guy guided me to the paradise beach... it was 8pm... the party was on...
I thought I had enough parties, but there, I thought I was wrong... It was just more than I could have imagined... Beautiful men... full of them...

Later I met some friends of the motorcycle guy, two girls from Miami even... the vacation was too short I was thinking, I wish I could stay...

Got lost, but with a great view everywhere...	Discovered nice beaches for lunch and swimming along the way...

Wind surfing beach, after 1hour wind surfing, I realized my skill level is beginner...

July 5th. 2008 Sat Mykonos and Epidavros

It is too soon that I have to leave again... but I wanted to go back to Athens to visit the Ancient Epidavros theatre...

I missed the Delos, but that is also another reason I need to come back to Mykonos for... :-)

I enjoyed the beach too much that morning and due to my bad map reading and driving skills I almost missed my boat back, thanks to the Avis shop sales
guy, he kindly drove me to the port by car at high speed... I always got help along my way, it was true, people indeed sense I need help somehow...

It was another venture to get the Epidavros, which was 2 hours away from Athens, Diana, the girl I have never met told me she would also go by car, can
drop me there cancelled at the last minute... I went to the bus station... no bus available any more...

I have to believe no need to worry in this world... since things get sorted just itself... I met an American couple to share taxi to go to the theater...
it turned out to be a great evening... the Theatre was amazing, the show was nice but average... the dinner there at the only restaurant were great...

the beach right beside the camping site...	There is a nice swimming pool at the camping site...
And a massage service... with great view...

End of my Greece trip... wonderful trip is the conclusion! :-)
